I did not stay at Hacienda Jiminita but had the opportunity to have dinner and spend a few hours there recently after a half day tour with Ecuador Birding Tours (reviewed separately) before heading to the airport. It left me wishing I'd had the opportunity to stay there during my time in Ecuador: this is a charming, historic family-run property with delightful staff, excellent service and attention to detail. Dinner was delicious and beautifully presented and it was lovely to have the chance to relax in a comfy chair in front of the fire afterwards. The property has been in the family for over 100 years and is beautifully furnished and maintained - it feels like a peaceful oasis but is just 15 minutes drive from Quito airport. I would not hesitate to book a stay at this hidden gem if I return to Ecuador!
