We were in the area on a college visit and wanted to see the beach. After driving around a bit along the shore, we went looking for a place nearby for dinner. The menu at Anchor Down looked great, so we headed there.The place is a bit nondescript...you might describe it as a dive or local hangout. It's back in a boat yard and nothing pretentious about it. In fact, the ceiling is so low I had to watch my head throughout. They wisely have brightened the inside with a white paint job so that really helps it not feel so small and tight as it really is.We didn't have a reservation and on the promise that we would eat quick, they seated us. What happened next was almost like something I'd never seen before. Once our order was taken, the food just came right out. Every person working there was on the ball with everything from refills to processing our credit card. It was honestly breathtaking how fast the food came out and how attentive the service was.By the way, don't let my use of "dive" lead you to assume the food was average. It is not. We all had a very good clam chowder and I ordered the Mahi special (blackened). It was delightful. No room for dessert unfortunately.So to recap, excellent food and even better service...among the best I've ever seen. I highly recommend Anchor Down if you're in the area.
Consistently good food, never disappoints. Pretty relaxing restaurant, My go to place. Very friendly service
It was not my first evening here but every time I visit the food is wonderful. The service is great. It is such a nice place to go to for a special occasion or just a dinner or lunch. I usually eat chicken and they're wonderfully cooked Brick Oven pies but last night I decided to get the ribeye steak. One of the best pieces of meat I've had in a very long time better than most steakhouses. I truly enjoy this restaurant I hope you try it. 5 stars from me.
Looking for a place by the water for dinner with friends and found Fabio’s on google. This place was great. Beautiful night on the patio out back. Service was the best I have seen in a long time. Food was very tasty. Great quality and great portions. This is a must go.
Food was excellent. Menu was extensive. The manager Tony ( not sure if he was the owner) was very nice and attentive. A last minute decision turned out to be a great experience.
I have come here multiple times and always gotten great food. The skirt steak with mashed potatoes and chili shrimp are the best. Quality food with good service.
By far, it is the best pizza on Long Island. I would recommend that Dave Portnoy tries this place out on One Bite Pizza Rankings. I would eat here every day if I could
My mom and I came on a Monday night. Place was pretty busy. We got the meatball appetizer. They were really good. We shared the pizza. Crust was a little burnt but overall very good. Our waitress was fine, but seemed like she didn’t want to be there.
Great Italian restaurant with very friendly staff, great owner who makes an effort with customers. Food is great and good portions sizes. The eggplant ‘meatballs’ on special were awesome.
The family love coming to this funky restaurant and bar with an eighties graffiti vibe.The food is really great and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Would recommend the pineapple margarita and the honey mustard fried chicken sandwich and fries. It’s a fun atmosphere and we will back.
We moved to Florida and this is the restaurant we miss most. Shelly and Danny are such welcoming hosts. Their food is creative and exceptional. Wasabi Shumai, a Sea Apple filled with Krab salad covered by Avocado slices and fish eggs is heavenly as you dip pieces into its Ponzu drizzle. Sushi, Soups and Hibachi grilled foods are just as delicious. Can't wait to fly up North!
I let the sushi chef decide what I was going to eat...Great decision on my part...again. Everything was super fresh and delicious 
friendly staff - great bagels - great options for the whole family. we go out of our way to come here.
