On arrival we were greeted by the owner and made to feel very welcome. We had booked a few weeks in advance which was lucky as the place was full, always a good sign. We had the beef (for two) and the rump. We did not require extra vegetables. The main course was amazing and beautifully presented. Deserts were also fantastic. We received great service by all there. I would totally recommend Nero
We had an excellent meal from the lunch menu, masala dosa and buttered chicken. The dosa came with a huge pancake filled with seasoned potatoes and vegetables also some chutneys and lentil soup. The butter chicken was one of the best I have ever eaten! Chicken was very tender and the sauce was full of flavour including fresh coriander. The fresh paratha bread puffy and delicious.Service good.
Izzy is the perfect host of a fantastic restarant.The decor is ideal and the seating "zones" allow for any taste in mood and group size. Everything from booths to an outdoor courtyard.The lighting is perfect. Not too bright and not too dark.The "noise" level is enough to feel like you are part of a happening thing and not too much that you can't hear yourself think.Palmerston North should be proud of such a great place to meet, eat & drink. Give it a try. Even if it is just once. You'll be glad you did.All the staff are friendly and seemingly happy to be of service.One more shout out to an amazing host, Izzy.

Great cafe for brunch and very pleasant and competent staff. Really great selection of food on the menu. For drinks we had an iced chocolate and a cappachino which were classic and the fish with homemade fries and a beautiful fresh salad was yum!
Our friend recommended Haru. The staff were all lovely and went beyond to help us out . The food was beautiful and delicious-even the chefs were friendly and took the time to give us a wave and smile after we thanked them for the delicious meal we had.
We popped in here whist driving south, a good cafe I had brunch and french toast glad we found this place. Service was good and food freshly cooked.
The staff were very friendly and the food was amazing. Definitely cooked to order and the perfect portion size for lunch. We will definitely be back

The new owners are even better than the previous ones (and they were terrific.) We were greeted with great warmth and our orders were taken efficiently. My banh mi had the perfect blend of crusty bun with lemongrass beef, veggies and beautiful seasonings. My husband's Pho was fragrant and flavoursome. Our meals came out with a very smiley waiter in good time. The table near us had a party of 9 and their meals also came out promptly.If we lived in PN, we'd eat here often. We'll certainly be back when we are next in PN.
In Palmerston North, we searched reviews for a restaurant, and luckily found this hidden gem. On a Friday we were fortunate to get a table. We ordered several smaller plates, which were all served when ready, rather than in courses. We had pork steamed buns, cauliflower, wonderful duck pancakes we filled ourselves (like a fajita) and tasty bruschetta. Lovely flavours, well presented by friendly and efficient staff. We didn't really need the sticky data pudding with vanilla ice cream, but it was awfully good!
Food was amazing. Good vibes, wait staff were super nice and onto it. So cool that you can see the chefs doing their thing too. We just had a bunch of starters to share and they were all delicious. Nice chill place to eat after a long roadtrip. Would tecomment
We were staying the night in Palmerston North and came across this restaurant by chance. We wanted a takeaway to return to the Bentley Motor Inn, (highly recommended), and were very impressed with the attention and friendliness of the front of house reception who offered us water while we waited for our meal. The lamb, chicken and vegetable dishes chosen were freshly cooked, delicious and copious. Would recommend this restaurant without hesitation.
This is a local cafe for us, and goes from strength to strength, our last visit was great, friendly service, good coffee, great food, any of our requests and requirements are catered for without an issue and with a smile.
The best Toasted Sandwich in years.and very nice coffee as well.Friendly service and nice and clean.My wife had a really nice Gluten Free toasted sandwich as well.
Smashed out a few brews while we waited for our meals to arrive.Great beer followed by even better food and all I can say is look out Work here comes the Brew Union and you need to get ready.Without a doubt the absolute best Smashed Burger I have ever had.Get in there and grab a seat and a beer while you wait for the fine food to arrive 
I tired chicken lollipops, garlic tikka and chow mien. It was delicious and my family also loved the food. The service was good too. We order the lamb sizzling and it look so smoky and was just delicious.
The baguettes are marvellous, as are the croissants, tarts, cakes and pies. It's like being back in Paris. You just can't go wrong here. 
Lovely time at the Shirehorse for Sunday lunch with my wife we both enjoyed every moment The staff were very friendly and helpful specially Ruby will be going again thanks to all at the Shirehorse
Staff were pleasant, friendly & accommodating. Food menu is good, not too many options to confuse diners.If there was one critique I could suggest is that cheap & nasty shoestring fries do not match with a relatively expensive eye-fillet steak & then another $14-16 for side vegetables.
