Out for a drive and decided to head towards Orangeville for an anniversary supper.This place had great reviews so we decided to give it a try. I had attempted to book a reservation with one of those on line services (open table?) but it said the only times open where at 6pm, which I took. We arrived in town early to look around and find the restaurant which we did. We dropped in to see of we could get an earlier sitting which they said "no Problem". So we ended up eating 1 1/2 hours earlier than we planned, but that was ok. Started out with a flat bread app w/ buffalo sausage, which was reallly good. The bride ordered the fish and chips which she said were excellent. I had a Thai dish, which I should have asked about before ordering. I had expected a little "heat" with it, but it was pretty tame. Tasted fine though. The place was empty, but service was very good and friendly. Place is clean and price was about right. Would come again and recommend to others.
We stopped in on a whim while passing through town. We were greeted at the door with a welcome and a smile by owner Rick. It was 2:00pm and we had to wait briefly for a table as they were quite full. Upon being seated, we were again greeted with a smile by a friendly server who quickly took a drink order, and shortly thereafter took our food order. There were lots of good options on the menu, including pastas and pizza, as well as some daily features. I ordered the kale salad special and hubby ordered the sausage pepper penne from the menu. He was given a choice of sauce, and of course he chose the hottest available. Both our meals arrived quickly and correctly, and were delicious and of ample portions. Our server checked with us a couple of times but was not hovering. Rick checked in as well to make sure we were being looked after. Everything was about perfect for a Saturday afternoon luncheon, and we will definitely come back. I highly suggest making a reservation as this restaurant is always quite busy due to their amazing staff and equally amazing food. Not sure why this is not a 5 star restaurant but in my world it is. Thanks for fitting us in!
Have gone to Rustik numerous times over the years when in the Orangeville area, and have always enjoyed the experience. A calm vibe, a nice decor, pleasant and competent wait staff, and tasty food - no wonder it is popular with the locals. Pricing is in the mid range, so not the cheapest, but certainly not the most expensive. A classy casual dining experience. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner.
The food was wonderful! Freshly cooked, served hot. Extensive menu - 3 pages. We ate from the lunch menu & there was lots of food.
The Barley Vine Rail Company was a fabulous venue to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our high school graduation. The ambiance, service and food were all top-notch.........all of us had a terrific experience.
I visited here for lunch, but this was my first Sunday night dinner. Rachel was accommodating. The retired older ladies chose the Corn Beef Reuben. It was excellent and substantial, and it was lunch the next day. I wanted some garden cocktail in my glass they didn't have any. Next visit I'll bring a little can to make my beer a "Red Eye"
Never disappoints - exceptional food, staff is excellent and both service and attitude- absolute must try when in Orangeville ~ fresh everything - bread made in house daily ,
We stopped in for an early bite to eat. The Philly steak sandwiches were great and they have really good fries. Nice, friendly staff. The buns for the sandwiches are amazing!!
We met with family at this great retro looking diner in the small town of Orangeville. What a gem. The service was quick and friendly and the food appeared and was appetizing. We had the traditional club sandwiches and only one of us was able to eat all of the food, the portions were generous to say the least. All were served piping hot and looking around the clientele, many were clearly locals, which is generally a good gauge of the quality of the food. One course was all we could manage each.There is ample parking.
Excellent service, cordially greeted upon entry. Even though she was busy, the waitress paid attention to our needs. Food arrived quickly. Mango salad was fresh, crisp, pleasant vinegar dressing.Husband had one of the lunch specials, 2 pork skewers, rice and 4 spring rolls. All were delicious and nicely presented. (17.99)Would highly recommend and would happily return if we pass through Orangeville again.
Charming little diner, Very good food, polite and friendly service. Excellent little touches, insulated pot for tea, insulated cup of cream for the coffee. reasonable prices. We will be back.
What a great surprise this restaurant is. Nice greeting from the owner when we arrived. Service was prompt and the food….oh, the food was probably the best restaurant Indian food I’ve ever tasted. Fresh ingredients, piping hot and well presented The seating area and washrooms were clean. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants to know what great Indian food tastes like.
Omg think I died and went to heaven. The food was fantastic, the service was wonderful, and the prices were Great! Going to be back …. A lot
After moving to the area a few years ago I searched high and low for the best fish n chips in the area and this is IT! The halibut is perfect, and the fries and onion rings are amazing. We have tried the chicken fingers, cheese sticks, and breaded scallops and I can vouch for those being really good too. I live a ways out of town but I try to go any time I am in Orangeville, and my husband knows that a drive into Orangeville for fish n chips is a great way to cheer me up when I’m having a crappy day. This is a casual, quirky, family-run place with lots of regulars and locals, and the vibe is always so welcoming. In an age of chain restaurants it is wonderful to have a place that is unique, has that authentic personal touch, and really goes the extra mile. I don’t know the owners or staff personally beyond being recognized because I go about once a month, but I am always made to feel right at home.
I met up with a colleague for a late lunch here. It was about 1:30 and when we arrived there was only one other table seated. It was a last minute decision to go to the smokehouse, it was our first time here, my colleague is a big fan of barbecue.First impression was the music was too loud. With it not being very busy we could still carry on a conversation.We were seated quickly, and had water brought to the table. In a reasonable time the server came back for our order. We started with the cornbread which was spot on. Then we both ordered the pulled pork sandwich, pulled pork being the true test of a smokehouse. The pulled pork was spot on as well. I had fries with mine, and they were as close to perfection as I’ve had. My colleague had a caesar salad for his side and it was, apparently, very good.I felt like a drink so I ordered a bourbon sweet tea which was a great accompaniment to the pulled pork.I had read the reviews of this place and saw they were hit and miss so i worried that its day had passed. Maybe we got them on a good day, but i think they know what they’re doing with BBQ. Based on this experience, I’ll return.
My wife and I have been going here now for a year, and it's dawned on me that I have not left a review! This place is absolutely amazing. The food is delectable, the drinks are divine, and the entertainment is top notch. Every member of the staff is fantastic, attentive and friendly and take care to make sure that your experience is one to remember. For a special night out this is the place, bar none.
After a hike on the island, friends and I had an early dinner here. There were many of us in the group but our server was so patient and polite taking our orders. I had the chicken burger (beautifully crisp), a salad and the French onion soup. It was a good meal, indeed.
It WAS great coffee too. She didn’t lie. Great cappuccino topped with tons of foam and she suggested cinnamon which was perfect. Totally accommodating. Very friendly staff. Made my afternoon of travels awesome,I popped in here quickly as I was passing through town. I was looking for a vanilla latte and was suggested something very similar and turned out to be delicious and better than your average vanilla latte.
