Truly blessed to be able to enjoy authentic yet delicious Peranakan food with a story behind each dish. Had the honour to have my family dine a few days before CNY (the last sitting!) which was an amazing experience. Service was top notch with Nyonya Chef Su Pei replying to texts very promptly and great hospitality during the dinner. My 10yo son enjoyed all of the dishes, including the curry and sambal flavours - much to our surprise! Our first time having the buah keluak - interesting flavour! Highly recommend and would plan a return visit we get a chance to get to Penang again one day. 😀
A local friend recommended we go and we were not disappointed. The food was fabulous. We both had the French onion soup and it was delicious. We had the fish of the day and the duck confit. Both were wonderful. Unfortunately we were too full to have dessert. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. We thought the prices were very reasonable. We will return.

The breakfast at Golden Sands Resort by Shangri-La, Penang is a delightful experience with a wide variety of options. The buffet offers a mix of local and international favorites, including nasi lemak, roti canai, fresh pastries, and made-to-order omelets. Fresh tropical fruits, juices, and aromatic coffee complement the meal perfectly. The ambiance is relaxing, with both indoor and outdoor seating overlooking lush gardens. The service is friendly and efficient, ensuring a pleasant start to the day. Whether you prefer a hearty Western breakfast or a taste of Malaysian flavors, this buffet has something for everyone.
You really have to believe the end is worth the journey to eat here as the restaurant is in a scruffy shopping centre that is almost a bit scary at night. If you can brave that you will eat in the best restaurant we came across in Penang. The lemon chicken and sizzling beef were truly outstanding , freshly made and spiced to perfection. It was so good you ignore the simple cafe decorations and plastic plates as the food is from the Gods ! The owner is a delightful lady , friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended
George Town seems to be the place to be for shopping and eating. Mr. Law dropped us off near Beach Street, the main drag for shopping. There are so many shops that sell the same merchandise. My wife bought a tee shirt with "Penang" written on the front.We all enjoyed this resto. First, it was restful and cool inside. We were so sweaty by that time. The service staff are so helpful. One server helper was rather cute -- so, I took a picture of her as she was waving us goodbye.I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch of duck confit with asparagus and coffee. My wife had their signature dish, paella with chix and bacon. For dessert, we had an unusual date pudding. Our total was 162 MYR, or US$ 40.
Delicious Ramadhan Buffet in Double tree Hilton Hotel. Went with my wife and beautiful decorate the food sand taste. The staff are really friendly .
Very nice café/restaurant. Both the sweet and sour chicken and the fish/chips were excellent. The service is quick and very friendly. Good music, nice to sit outside. The cakes were also good, but a bit too rich. All in all, definitely recommended!
Asyraf at hard rock was a great and attentive server. Great food and quick service. Restaurant was nicely decor with good ambiance and lighting.
Visited a couple of times during our stay in Penang. Great little restaurant selling authentic Malay and Asian food. Friendly staff and good service. Gets very busy, we got the last table the first time we visited around 8-30 in the evening, booked in advance for the 2nd visit. Tables are available on the balcony overlooking the street or there is an airconditioned room at the back. If you don't want to eat at the foodcourts but want traditional tasty food this is a great choice.

This little cafe opens to only 4 pm. So, if you are in the vicinity enjoying the street art, pop in here for a meal. It even has its own wall, featuring none other than the owner himself.The food menu is simple: Penang laksa, Nyonya lemak laksa (not available everyday) and fried vegetarian spring rolls. When we were there, lemak laksa was unavailable. So, it was a simple decision. Fried spring rolls and Penang laksa seem like a strange combination at first. But dip the spring roll into the laksa, and it turns out to be a great harmony. The Penang laksa is great. Whether it is the best in Penang is up for discussion, but you can save the trouble of hunting and queuing for the best by coming here. It is also far more comfortable eating here compared to a street stall.The cafe is operated by a couple and their son. Service is friendly and homey.
看了点评过来的，酒店就住附近，步行大约10来分钟。环境挺舒服的，价格可以，家庭模式经营，男老板很亲切，能用粤语一一给我们介绍菜品。吃饭时刚好舞狮釆青应该是今天新春营业，恭喜发财！菜品适合来自广州的我们口味。I've never experienced a bar quite like Over and Above. It starts as a relaxed venue with live bands, but as the night progresses, it transforms into a vibrant club with a DJ spinning fantastic tunes that get everyone dancing. It's definitely a must-visit for a weekend night out in Penang!
My husband and I visited Junk Cafe tonight. We had burgers & fries. Food perfect. Staff so friendly. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back. Great chilled atmosphere
Our third visit to Kebaya whilst staying in Penang. The food is amazing, I’d say it’s as good as anywhere we’ve eaten in Penang. Cooked really well and a special mention to the staff, great service. Look forward to visit number four.
Lovely place to enjoy a good hearty breakfast. As soon as you walked in it was busy and the atmosphere inside was welcoming. Good variety menu from breakfast/brunch/lunch or dinner options as well as drinks. They even bring a jug of water over to the table too. You can tell they take care with the food as the food was well presented. Definitely recommend a visit. 
Everything was perfect: the food, ambience and service! We opted for 5-course set menu and we were not disappointed. The selection of different flavours was excellent. The best meal we had in Penang! Highly recommend!
