Superbly designed, fascinating and FUN exhibits.
I loved the transport noises through time activated by walking along the ‘track’ to the main building.
Even the doors mysteriously opening pleased me!
The engines are magnificent.
Loved the interesting films/images/boards and artefacts, the old toilets (none for women at first!!!), and the ticket room.
I can’t fault any of it!
Love coming to the theatre. Came before and after the modernisation.
Like how it is now modern yet still has kept in keeping. It really is a pretty little theatre getting some great plays and acts on. Came to see Jimmy Carr last week who was great
My only gripe is there's not much leg room if your tall and the seats are quite hard if your seated for 2 hrs without a break.
Getting out can be chaotic if there's a double performance on as you have people going and coming in at the same time. Staff need to supervise this better as your dealing with the very impatient general public at times who use no common sense.
The theatre has full disabled access with disabled toilets and lifts. Is wheelchair accessible
All staff I've dealt with over the years have been great very helpful and professional

My first time at Rockliffe hall spa came on my own and had a lovely relaxing day. All the staff were very helpful and polite. I was booked into the spa garden too which was amazing, unlimited hot drinks which was a bonus. I had the whole place to myself for about an hour so it was lovely and quiet. My lunch was great too can’t fault it at all! I then had a 90 minute hot oil treatment which was just what I needed very relaxing. My therapist Georgia was so kind, professional and just great at what she does! I just wish there was a relaxation room which you could chill out in after your treatment which most spas do have, instead your just taken into the shop which is very bizarre. Overall I had a great day :))
I did parkrun here this morning and it is a lovely park to run round. It looks to be well cared for and has lots of interesting bits to it.
The only part I wasn’t keen on was the aviary but that’s because I prefer to see birds flying free than in cages.
The most beautiful gardens we have ever visited. We were so lucky to have visited the gardens, we will definitely be back when it opens again. 
Would just like to thank the staff at Darlington station for helping me find my lost suitcase! Everyone i spoke to was so friendly and helpful. Thanks to a particular cleaner especially for getting me through the barriers and escorting me to the lost property office. Didn't catch your name, sorry!
Beautifully maintained water gardens and plants and garden ideas galore. Lovely chat with some of the team members, who obviously take pride in their gardens and ponds.
Everything for a lovely few hours.
Garden centre has lots of ponds and water features to inspire you. Fish and pond accessories section was well stocked and lots of help from the lovely knowledgable and approachable staff.
We popped into the cafe and grabbed a cool drink, we saw a great choice of food and drinks available and lovely seating areas.
We haven't been here for 3 years and can see it has been refurbished and appears more food oriented. There is a nice looking fruit stall and butchers and a posh accessories shop plus an interesting stall selling costume jewellery. There is a German style bar doing very good business.
Celebrated my 60th birthday with a family Sunday lunch at The Clubhouse. Absolutely superb experience. The food was amazing, the staff were lovely and even brought me a decorated plate with brownies and fresh fruit. Would definitely recommend. The atmosphere and location is just perfect and my grandchildren loved the choices on the kids menu. Perfect family lunch in every way. Thank you Rockcliffe.
The sculpture is hidden out of the way and it seems a shame that such an impressive piece is not more visible to more people rather than the dedicated few who seek it out iut. It is labelled in Google maps for ease. So pleased to have seen it 'in the flesh'.
Brilliant Day Out....
Went to the Pumping Station as we were visiting Darlington. What a fascinating place so very interesting Built on the on the bank of the River Tees.
It was a Wednesday when we called, unfortunately, not open to the public due to it being a maintenance day.But a member of the staff let us in. We were shown round by a young man called James, he was very knowledgeable and showed how he loved the place. The beam engine wasn't working as the site wasn't really open to the public. But James explained everything to us and we found the place fascinating.Will go again on a weekend when everything is up and running.
The former superintendents cottage is a tea room, all profits made from the tearoom and the entrance fee go to the running of the museum.
I absolutely love the playroom (the themes change throughout the year)! It's always so well thought out, with a focus on sparking creativity. My little girl has a blast using her imagination, and it's the perfect space for her to explore and learn. We often visit with friends, and it’s always a fun time.
The theatre shows are a fantastic value for money! It’s a cozy, small children’s theatre that creates such a memorable experience. Every show we’ve seen has been delightful, and the intimate setting makes it even more special.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming, which makes our visits even better. There are also so many lovely books and crafts to enjoy, keeping my little one entertained. Highly recommend!
I'm a regular visitor to this wonderful library. it's a stunning building which has been beautifully restored. Well worth a visit, even if you're not selecting a book, there is so much to see and do, with lots of events and hobby areas for adults and children.
With free entry, it's a must see. High recommended.
This monument is in tribute to Joseph Pease, a 19th century politician, Quaker and the first Quaker allowed to take a seat in the Houses of Parliament. As well as promoting railways, his legacy include the Cruelty to Animals Act of 1835 and being a committee member of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The monument depicts Pease in middle age, wearing a Quaker coat. He stands with his left hand at his side and his right tucked into the breast of his waistcoat. The statue surmounts a pedestal decorated with bronze plaque commemorating important events in his life with reference to his contribution to anti-slavery, railways education and politics.
I love the solitude of this enchanting place- reading the gravestones is like gazing into history. It is such a shame access is restricted- the gate is almost always locked which is why most people in the town dont know it exists.

Amazing walk with the dogs, very very friendly dog walkers made it such a pleasure. We sat in the sunshine in the river in complete peace and tranquillity. Fairly Flat walk with stunning scenery and blue dragonflies. I can’t believe it wasn’t busier on such a perfect day.We come in for a browse when we visit town. Today everything is 20 percent off due to the fact the store is due to shut in the near future.
