An excellent way to help the community while on vacation. Well organized and friendly staff members. Always a pleasure to walk the dogs and help out with the feeding. They need donations for veterinary bills with their large spay and neuter programs. Thank you for helping the island.
This was such a great experience, one of the last Crusader castles in the region. Spectacular views and scenery will be stunning. It’s quite the climb to the peak and the steps are small and slippery, but oh my word what a view from there you can see the whole region.
The site closes early in the winter (14.30) so get there early as you will probably need about 2 hrs to go round the area.
There is a small cafe at the base which takes Euro and TL.
Красивые виды с террасы аббатства. Сам монастырь небольшой, есть православная церковь с красивым иконостасом. Ни церковь, ни монастырь НЕ функционируют как религиозные учреждения, представляют собой исключительно туристические объекты. В сохранившейся трапезной проводят концерты. В общем, стоит заехать. Осмотр достопримечательности займет максимум полчаса.
This is a great place to visit, especially at sunset. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes because of the stones, and steps. It’s easy to be there 2 hours or more. They have a small cafe in the courtyard, a gift shop and a museum. The WC costs 10TL. The entry fee is 50TL.
It’s a small museum, very well designed, except for the viewing area of the wreck itself. They have a narrow walkway around the wreck, and a bench. It’s uncomfortable if it’s crowded. It’s a great historical treasure.
just an impression, nice Venetian Castle near the harbour, nice environment, nice terraces of restaurants, but the harbour is not the luxury in itself
One can drive in to this castle some 6kms off a main road or walk along a heavily littered tarmac track to the start of the climb on a good path to the castle itself. The ascent takes about 25 mins and offers spectacular views.
Buffavento is another of those spectacular ruins that encapsulates the Crusading period with battle hardened knights defending the Island from the Arabs and the many others who threatened its shores.
We walked the six kilometres in and out, but were saddened by the amount of litter and general waste spread about the route. The authorities either need to restrict the use of this road to stop anymore fly-tipping or clean it up.
Alagadi Turtle Beach ist ein beeindruckender Ort, der vor allem für seine Bedeutung als Schutzgebiet für Meeresschildkröten bekannt ist. Es ist großartig, dass der Tierschutz dafür sorgt, dass dieser Strand nicht zugebaut wird. Die Aussicht und das Ambiente sind schön, doch leider liegt immer wieder Müll herum, was die ansonsten unberührte Atmosphäre trübt. Es wäre wünschenswert, wenn mehr auf die Sauberkeit des Strandes geachtet werden könnte, um dieses Naturjuwel noch angenehmer zu erleben. Trotzdem ein wichtiger Ort, der es verdient, geschützt zu werden.

I like northern Cyprus. It is wonderful with its historical places and beautiful beaches. Besides its old and important cathedrals and churches, this church has an ordinary story. A simple and special place. Barnabak church is the most important, but this is one of the churches built later.

A wonderful picturesque place, suitable for walking, meeting with friends and visiting small and cozy restaurants, of which there are many. It's a good place.

Thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting and cheese pairing. The tasting included a tour of the winery, which was brilliant. Our guide was very knowledgeable. The winery is in a beautiful location. I would like to return when the chocolate pairing is available.
We left it a bit late in the afternoon to visit the church but luckily passed the caretaker on the road - he turned his car around and went back just to open it up for us! Amazing experience at a truly beautiful place. Not only is the setting wonderful, and the church itself very beautiful but the caretaker (so sorry but we cannot remember his name) was exremely welcoming and friendly. We were served refreshing home-made lemonade and biscuits which we enjoyed while watching thousands of small butterflies. We were not made to feel that we had to hurry and leave - despite it being well past closing time. Defintely recommend. (We actually visited in July 2019 but cannot put that date in this form - we are just very bad at putting reviews up in good time!)
