We visited august 2023 but there was no option to choose this. This nature reserve has lots to do. We went to a separate enclosure for vultures and had an up close and personal talk about snakes where we were allowed to hold them. We then went on a safari trip where we saw giraffes, rhinos and antelope. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. We had lunch in the restaurant on site, really good prices and lots to offer. The restaurant is next to an area where deer walk around, so nice to see! The park offers a twilight tour also to see more animals but we didn’t do it this time. This park is a must visit for those visiting Gaborone.
It is one of the few attractions in Gaborone, but worth a visit. The resident tour guide will walk you through the place as he gives you a short lecture on the history of the Batswana people. There isn't much to see and you can finish the tour in less than an hour.
We had so much fun at this park, the rides were fun for the children. The biggest rollercoaster really was a thrill. We paid P2 each to go on it. The up close and personal with the lions was a unique and memorable experience! You don’t get that in zoos in the U.K. unless you pay much much extra. The restaurant has good food that we all enjoyed. We sat under a shady bit to enjoy our meal. Unfortunately the water park was closed for the winter (southern hemisphere winter) so I can’t comment on that. The park was clean and tidy and the staff were helpful and friendly.
I climbed Kgale hill with my 21 year old daughter on a Sunday. It took about 50 mins to get to the top. I last climbed it in 1975 and have a photo from the top. Sadly the final bit is now blocked off by a radio tower. It’s a decent steady walk. Surprisingly clean but not well signposted hence the 4*. Luckily we followed someone otherwise it would have been stressful. We took an iDrive (Uber equivalent) to the car park at c8:30 am to avoid the heat. It was quite busy with lots of families and even a scout group at the top. We felt totally safe. There is not a great deal to do in Gaborone by Western tourist standards so worth doing this.
Mixt feelings; bad roads and works at several places, so bad that even our new Landrover Defender had some difficulties with all the mud. But very friendly people at the gate and lots of animals to see. We were here for the second time in two years and never have we seen so easily water monitor lizards has here, and eland antilope for exemple.
Easily one of the best malls in Gaborone. The shop range is massive, and there's a lot to choose from. Many amenities and it's quite modern looking. Very good multifunctional place to come to, whether you're here to explore or to do your groceries, this is your go to place
One of the mega malls of Gaborone, with secure parking and lots of shops and restaurants. It is safe and family-friendly.
Boa reserva. Muito vazia. Apenas você e as manadas de elefantes. Somente de caminhonete 4x4. Fica a 1 hora de viagem de Letlhakeng e depois se dirige em areia fofa dentro da reserva. As imagens são de National Geographic.
The balaj temple is beautiful, the architecture with detail pictures of deities reminds me of the temples in India. It is so peaceful an i was excited to witness an be part of the prayers at the temple. It spiritually elevate a person with the vibrance of bhajans. Prayers are conducted in the Evenings during the month of Purassati (HIndu prayer)
stunning views and peaceful hiking trails, but be prepared for a bit of off-road adventure from the gate to the gorge...perfect for nature lovers seeking a quiet escape
Lovely place on the river and we enjoyed a sunset cruise up the river Notwane. Owners and staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, highly recommended. Mokolodi reserve near by well worth a visit.
