The unique wooden cathedral in the town of Samar (Novomoskovsk) is a recognized pearl of Ukrainian folk architecture. It was built by Zaporizhia Cossacks without a single nail and consecrated in 1778. The shrine is glorified in the novel "The Cathedral" by Oles Honchar, a classic writer of Ukrainian literature.
I think that this architectural monument is known to everyone who has studied Ukrainian history and literature. To see the cathedral with your own eyes, take a bus to the town of Samar (Novomoskovsk) at the bus station of the city of Dnipro. Travel time from Dnipro is less than 1 hour.
