I feel we lucked out by choosing to go to dinner at the Cellar in Elora. We reserved in short notice but were able to secure a table on the lovely patio overlooking the Grand River. Our waitress was delightful and attentive. My partner chose the special which was a full rack of ribs with shrimp. It was a very generous portion and he enjoyed it thoroughly! I chose the Chicken Pesto Alfredo . It was a huge portion, enough for a second meal at home, but delicious! We would go back again if we are ever in beautiful Elora again. (There is sidewalk construction in front of the restaurant which caused us some concern of how we were going to get in but we were guided by the helpful construction workers nearby. It will be great when construction is completed.)
In the beautiful riverside having delicious fish and chips, that's a very good experience. And the service was nice too.
Originally this was a 2 person booking (my parents) but my brothers and I added 8 people to it as a surprise for their 50th wedding anniversary (I personally flew in from Sweden for this). The staff were informed of the occasion much before and were asked if it was possible to do something special for them which they said they could. Not only did the restaurant not do anything at all, they didn't even acknowledge the occasion whatsoever. Extremely disappointing!
I've been here with my family as well as Solo and we absolutely love this place. Nice and quaint with amazing food. Excellent service each time. Would recommend for lunch and dinner. Everything I've tried has been delicious.
