Lovely setting, I was a bit surprised with the size of the menu. Not the selection of dishes I was expecting. Overall good quality and tasty food. Would like to see a bit more on the menu.
Visited with my son for lunch and had the pie of the day, which was divine. My son had fish and chips, the piece of fish was HUGE and he very much enjoyed his meal. Lovely decor and attentive staff.
Visited with friends. When I made the booking it said we could have a 2 hour time slot, 12:00 till 2:00. We thought that would just about be ok, as we could go upstairs for a drink after food if necessary. We got there 5 mins early and had to wait on the sofa, which is fine. At 2:05 we were told we could go to our table but would have to leave by 1:50. Therefore reducing our time to 1 hr 45 mins. It took quite a long time for our order to be taken. Food arrived in a reasonable time after being ordered. Here’s the big plus, all food was delicious! The strange thing was, after being told we’d have to leave our table by 1:50pm, at that point the restaurant was still half empty and it was only around then that we got to order dessert. We ended up leaving our table at about 2:45, which was a nice amount of time. Whilst staff weren’t unfriendly, staff service didn’t stand out. Decor was great. My main, dessert and 2 soft drinks was £37.00. It was pretty busy by the time we left and getting very noisy. Which gave atmosphere to the place, but on a table of more than 4, you’d struggle to hear people sat 2 places away! Will visit again.
Enjoyed the space and decor.it was a cold day the restaurant was warm. Downstairs in toilets very cold. However besides that for 20 pounds had a fab 2 course lunch generous portions. Can’t wait to have a drink on terrace roof when warmer
