Tried this restaurant three times now and it disappoints with everything. Was hoping they would remake some of the entrees to be more tasty. So bland and not going again.
The space is amazing, and the food didn't disappoint! Lots of interesting choices for sharing. Met a friend I hadn't seen in a year, sat on a couch munching and talking for maybe 3 hours. No one minded. The place is huge and nowhere near crowded although not empty, either, on a Friday afternoon. Good wine cellar and best coffee drinks I've had in a long time.
Best vegan food I ever had. I had the lunch bowl from downstairs, which was hearty and delicious. Topped it off with a drink with homemade nut milk. I would come here regularly if I lived in Healdsburg! Service was great and dog friendly. They brought out a water bowl for the pup.
Food was pretty good. But service was horrendous. Really wanted to love the place but with that kind of service, or should I say, lack of, no thank you. First thing we were told after ordering coffee was that they were out of in-house cups and that our coffee would be served in to go cups. Which we really didn’t care about. However, it was then added on that a lot of people were getting really upset about that. Felt like a weird thing to add after we had already stated that we didn’t care. None of us were surprised that people in that city would get upset about something so unimportant and we highly sympathized with the waiter. Moving forward, our waiter must have gone on break while we were there, but he didn’t even let us know. The person that was “taking care of us” never checked in, and just tried to drop the check off without asking if we wanted dessert or anything else. Mind you, this was a weekend brunch. Extremely unfriendly. Brought us the menu, we ordered dessert. She came back a few minutes later telling us that they were out of vanilla icecream and if we wanted our affogato with blackberry or raspberry icecream. We thought that those were weird choices but then also wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, i.e., she works there and probably knows what would and wouldn’t taste good. It was disgusting. We poured out the coffee to try to save the ice-cream, but it was overall a fail. No biggie tho, it happens. All of us had worked in restaurants for many years during college. All of us know what to do when a fail like this happens: you take it off the bill. But that didn’t happen either. We decided to not make a big deal out of it as it was our friend’s birthday. We pay, leaving the tip in cash. The next day, we realize that they charged my friend $15 more than me, which is not what we signed. She had to call 5 times before getting any help, and then was offered to either drive there and pick up a check or a GIFTCARD for the restaurant. I’m sorry ?! Your mistake and then you’re adding in a major inconvenience of having to drive 20 min one way to your restaurant to pick up a check? How many times have I adjusted the amount charged after someone called because they forgot to add a tip (funny, tipsy customer) or because something was charged wrong. It’s very easy. I’m sorry, but this restaurant is a joke, and the customer service and the lack of care from the manager is horrendous. Do not recommend.
