We stayed in the Tree Fern Cottage at Frog and Fern and it was breathtaking! 3 story cottage and very roomy. We came to rest and achieved exactly that. Josef was our host during the stay. We appreciated the warm welcome upon arrival as well as the non-invasive daily check ups on us. The cottage was cleaned daily and anything we needed we just had to ask. The area is quiet and activities were within a good driving distance. We got to swim at Bridal Veil Falls and Tessa’s Pool - it was so spectacular and mind blowing. Thank you Josef for the suggestions and taking us there.
We ended the stay with Sundowners and a warm fire burning - it was so picturesque.
Frog and Fern is a serene place in a beautiful area and well worth the stay.
Thank you Jane for making the booking so effortless and easy. We definitely enjoyed our stay!
Lovely stay in Tree Fern Cottage but did feel it was quite pricey especially as there were issues with the hot water.
Jose was so helpful and looked after us well. He organized activities for us (birding and golf).
Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy the cozy cottage vibe.
Jane, warm, welcoming and free sharing of excellent knowledge of area, plants, birds and Zimbabwe in general. Great to get recommendations and contacts of other places to go and stay further on. Wonderful stone cottage with everything one could need to stay for loooong to explore, contemplate, write or paint. 5 star!
Simply the best place to stay in Chimanimani! A truly magical place that brings you back to nature and instills peace. We stayed in Pip’s cottage for three nights. Pip’s is like a magical tree house; it has everything you need and nothing more… The upstairs balcony and bedroom brings you right into the trees, a great place to take in sun sets and to get closer to the stars The bathroom upstairs is very useful to avoid going down the spiral stair case mid night to get to the loo! Jane and José are gracious hosts and very knowledgeable about the area. Jane is super invested in the community, which is both beautiful and inspiring. Hike and swim up to Bridal Vale is a must, as well as Tess’ Pool… Chimanimani reminds us of how beautiful our planet is and how we must individually and collectively commit to its protection. We will be back for sure!
Very cosy cottages, furnished with everything you may need. The cottages are within a nice tended garden on the hillside, very peaceful. Several walks in the vicinity, including to Bridal Veil Falls and Pork Pie Hill. A short walk to the shops and a 40 minute drive from Chimanimani National Parc. The host Jane is wonderfully hospitable and extremely knowledgeable about the area. This is surely one of the best places to base yourself in the Eastern Highlands.
I stayed in Miombi. I have never enjoyed so hot a shower and such a cosy smokeless wood fire. Second night we actually put up in the lounge sitting arround the fireplace. Exquisity. Nice traditional set up and great secenery. We are doing it again this May. Thanks to Jay.
An epic stay at Frog and Fern. Pips was perfect for us as a couple. Sundowners on the deck daily. A march up Pork pie, challenging drive to the gap capped with visits to Tessa's pool and Bridal veil. Roads into Chimanimani are in great shape and set the tone for the weekend. A great long weekend getaway ! We will be back.
Thanks Jane and the team.
